Alamo was located on the Idaho/British Columbia border. The first claims were staked in September 1891, and the area produced millions in silver and lead over the next 40 years. Mining activity continues in the area to this day.

This is not a typical presentation bar but rather just a 73.6 gram bar stamped as a souvenir, probably from an assay from one of the 100+ claims staked before the end of 1891. If a 20 pound ore sample was used and yielded this 2.37 oz. bar, the ore would assay at about 224 oz./ton which is rich ore and typical of some of the richer ore mined at this location.
