1883 “Pride of the Comstock” Morgan Dollar
The following piece is a celebration stamped onto a Morgan dollar in excellent condition. It is remarkable how well preserved the coin is itself after all these years.
Commemerative of the arrival of Miss Clara Alexandra Brumsey, the Pride of the Comstock.
Based on the tag it is believed to have been given as a gift to the wife of Nevada Senator James A. Brumsey of Storey County Nevada on February 16th, 1882. J. A. Brumsey was President Pro Tempore of the Senate in 1883.
